Product Description Introduction
Saturn and Dreamcast are the cherished memories of a generation, and now Brook offers more ways to unlock the potential of these two consoles. You can now use PS5, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 controllers, as well as the Nintendo Switch Pro controller, Xbox Elite controller, Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, Xbox Adaptive controller, and even the Retro-Bit Saturn USB controller on these systems.
The Wingman SD supports the use of PS5, Xbox 360, Xbox Elite 1 (wired), PS3, PS4, and SEGA Astro City mini (wired) controllers and arcade sticks on Dreamcast, Saturn, and PC (X-input). It also allows the use of a keyboard on Dreamcast (if the game supports it) and enables backing up Dreamcast VMU and expanding its memory to 240 blocks on a PC.
The latest firmware update (V1.4a, released on 20211229) addresses several issues, including: - Support for Splatterhouse Trilogy - Fixing the wireless controller pairing problem in Standard mode on Saturn - Addressing the issue where UP+START couldn't activate the VUM Tool when using an Astro City controller or fight stick - Adding support for using Select as the mode switch key for the Retro-Bit SEGA Saturn wireless controller - Fixing the button mapping of the SNK_NeoGeoArcadeStickPro to match a general fight stick layout
Before using the device, please visit the Brook website to check for any available firmware updates.
Connecting to the Device
Step 1: Connect the Wingman SD to your Saturn, Dreamcast, or PC via the appropriate port. The Console Green LED on the Wingman SD will light up permanently, indicating a successful connection to the console.
Step 2: Wired Connection: - Connect your wired Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, or Nintendo Switch controller or gamepad to the Wingman SD through the USB port. Some high-power-consumption devices, such as the Nintendo Switch Pro controller, may require an external USB power source for normal use. Using a Wireless Xbox 360 Controller: - Simply connect the wireless Xbox 360 receiver to the Wingman SD through the USB port. Using Wireless PS3, PS4, or Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers: - After completing the wired connection, remove the USB cable, and then wake up the wireless PS3, PS4, or Nintendo Switch Pro controller.
Step 3: Check if the Device Red LED on the Wingman SD is permanently on, indicating that the connection is complete.
